My favorite train is the Roy O. Disney. I like it because the theme color is green and it is my favorite color. Love your show. Keep taping, thanks tammy

Great show as always and yes… as a train buff I think that’s the room I’d love to book on my next visit.
I believe there are 4 trains in the WDW Railroad, all easily identified… Walter E Disney (red boiler, cab and wheels), Lilly Belle (green boiler and cab with red wheels), Roger E. Broggie (green boiler with red cab and wheels) and the Roy O. Disney (green cab with red boiler and wheels).
Perhaps the special name that Chris was referring to was the Lilly Belle since it was named after Walt’s wife Lillian and is also the locomotive that Walt ran in his own backyard railway known as Carolwood Pacific.
Or perhaps Chris was referring to the locomotives called “the twins” since the Walter E. Disney and the Roger E. Broggie were both built in 1925, both are 10-wheelers and were both on the shop floor at the same time when they were being refurbished.

Hi Rick,
I enjoy riding all four trains but I really try to be sure I get the Walter
E. Disney train or the Lilly Belle.
The Grand Floridian is my favorite resort but I have only stayed there once for my 30th wedding anniversary. It’s so beautiful. My favorite memory is seeing the women resort workers come to work wearing their pastel outfits and using pastel colored umbrellas as they walked to each building.

The Walt Disney Suite at the Grand Floridian is beautiful! Thanks for showing it to us, Rick. I would have no trouble moving in there on a permanent basis–it really looks spacious!!
I think my favorite train is the Lillie Belle. We enjoy riding around the Magic Kingdom on all of them!!

Great show. The names of all four trainsd are: Lilly Belle, Roy O. Disney, Walter E. Disney, and Roger E. Broggie. I’ve always seen the Grand Floridian from the out side but the room that you showed is anything close to the rest of the rooms it looks like a great place to stay. thank once again for showing somthing new to me.

Neat to see that suite. I did not know they had two named after Walt and Roy.
I like to ride the train whenever I’m at WDW but I always forget to look to see which train I’m on!

Greetings Fellow Commenters.
I always seem to end up on the Lilly Belle. We always make sure we ride the train at least once a trip.
I see I’m not the only one who feels the Grand Floridian is just too grand for me. I like the cosier places.
Any chance you will be showing us around the Caribbean Beach’s Pirate themed rooms any time soon? I’d love a peek at them.

It was great to see the Walt suite at Grand Floridian as it will probably be the only chance I will ever get to see it. Can’t wait to see the Roy suite soon. I like all the trains and like to ride on them to rest my feet after a long day of walking around, but I would have to say the Walt E one is my favorite.

Hi Rick , as always enjoyed your video of the week. I know they probably dont like to give quotes but just a ballpark rate on these suits would sure be nice to hear. As far as the guest question of the week, just like at Disneyland , all of the Disney World steam trains are named after very special people. This means its your guest personal favorite or a trick question Hahaha. I think if you could ask Walt which is the most special , it would have to be the LillyBelle since its named after his beautiful wife and love of his life. Both Walt and Roy need no explanation. As far as Roger Broggie , he is believed by many to be the FIRST imagineer. Roger Broggie was a great friend of Walts and played a major role in the construction of Walt Disney’s original live steam railroad built in Walts brentwood California backyard. Roger was an ingineering and mechanical genius and Walts personal backyard railroad was believed to be the real inspiration to build Disneyland. Next time your in California you should try to visit Walt’s original train barn if you havent had the pleasure already. About ten years ago the Disney family and the City of Los Angeles worked together and gave Walts actual barn from his Brentwood estate a permanent home inside of Griffith Park in Los Angeles. Its been lovingly moved and beautifully restored and house a museum quality collection of Walts personal model trains and memorobilia. Its FREE and open to the public on the third sunday of every month just about a half hours drive from Disneyland. To this day Roger Broggies son is one of the people responsible for the conservancy of Walt’s Barn and is often onsite. He has some amazing stories he can share about both his father and Walt Disney. I believe this would make an amazing video of the week that all Disney and Walt Disney World lovers would really enjoy. Dont miss it next time you visit the original Disneyland.

Great episode Rick. I really enjoyed the tour of the suite and I would love to stay in it some day. The Lilly Belle popped into my mind when Chris asked about a train with a special name. I’m sure it would be Walt’s favorite if he were here to ride one. Thanks again for a wonderful show and thank you to Chris for taking the time to show us around.

Hey Rick, Thanks for another great video. I would love to stay in the Walt Suite at the Grand Floridan. Actually I would love to stay at each of the Disney Resorts. They are all so unique. I have no idea what the names of the trains are. I guess I had better get back to WDW and spend some serious time riding the trains.

Thanks for another great video. I don’t actually have a favorite train at WDW. I imagine that the Lilly Belle would be Walt’s favorite. The Grand Floridian seems like a nice place to stay, don’t knopw if I will ever do that though as I am sure the main building is quite pricey and we prefer to stay in the best buildings when we choose a resort, so looks like I am out of luck. Oh well we do enjoy visiting the GF while at Disney for some afternoon tea and an occasional meal, and just to sit and relax while listening to the afternoon entertainment.
I second the request for getting an inside view of the Pirate themed rooms at the CB resort. Please consider it! I am always hoping that there will be more specially themed rooms under construction for guests to stay in while visiting Disney World. Thanks for taking us inside of one such room (suite).

Hi Rick and Chris!
Thank you for showing this beautiful suite, Rick. I like the room with two twin beds. I wish there were more rooms like this on Disney property because we have a tween boy and girl and they do not like to sleep together. There are very few resorts with bunks and the day beds can be “sorta hard” according to the kids. The LillyBelle was the first to pop into my head for the train name because I had heard the story about it being named after Walt Disney’s wife.
Nice job Chris and thanks for helping to run such a wonderful resort!

I believe the name of the train is the Lilly Belle, named after his wife.
