Hi Rick,
The Red Roof Inn ….it is NOT!!! The GF is my very favorite resort but I
have been a guest there once for my 30th wedding anniversary. On my 50th we
are going to stay there again in 2016! It is so lovely and on certain mornings
the housekeepers dressed in colorful uniforms walk to their jobs carrying colorful unbrellas. It’s a sight to see.
We always visit the resort when we come and it is so beautiful during the
Christmas season. The gift shops are very nice too and you can find
bargains there sometimes.
We like the GF Cafe too and often have had breakfast there. In 2011 we did the character breakfast at the Park Fare and the food was so delicious especially the omelets and there was no rush to get you out of the restaurant like in some other places.
Yes this is a favorite!
I almost forgot about answering the question of the week. My favorite resort pool would have to be the quiet pools at various resorts. At CS I had the quiet pool right outside our door and no one else was using it so it was
a private pool for me. My second choice would be the pool at BC/YC because of the sandy bottom.

I have had the pleasure of going to Disney World but never staying at the Grand Floridian . Its on my bucket list to stay at the Grand Floridian at least once.

Hey Rick.
When I am at Disney I always have to walk around the Grand Floridian. It is an awsome resort. No other hotels are like it. Well the Hotel Hershey rivals the Grand Floridian R&S. I also like walking down the Grand Staircase. My favorite pool is the pool at the Wilderness Lodge. I will see you next week.

Great episode Rick,
I hope you do the the same thing some day but at the Polynesian Resort which by the way I think has the best pool, the volcano pool, and they also have the quiet pool not to far away.

Hey Rick and everyone!
My favorite pool is the round pool over at the Contemporary. It used to be called the “teen” pool, but now I’ve heard it called the “Bulls eye” pool. I like that it’s a quieter pool and the speakers play the same music loop all the time. I’ve got the music memorized!!! ha ha
Can’t wait to see what you have in store for next week!!

My favorite pool is the one at wildness lodge I couldn’t get my daughter out of the pool when we stayed there. Why not do a segment showing all the pools at Disney World.

Excellant video Rick but you forgot show your viewers any of the great gift shops like Basin and the 3 or 4 other shops that are part of this resort. We Love this resort and make a point of stopping by to visit Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort about every other trip or so. We really Love going there around Christmas time when they have the giant gingerbread house on display. We have yet to stay there, but hopefully some day we will. My wife and I don’t do much swimming at Disney World as we both burn really easily in the Florida sun, but on the rare occasion I do get into the water, it is usually at the quiet pool at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Sometimes we go for an afternoon dip there and it feels like we have the whole resort to ourselves. Again…thanks for another great video Rick!

WDW’s flagship Resort is as good as it gets.
We’ve never stayed there(although that may change with a new DVC wing coming), but we often stop by for dinner and drinks.
Last month on our first ever WDW Xmastime trip, we visited all the Deluxe Resorts to check out the holiday decorations. And the Grand Floridian was far and away the best at getting us into the Christmas mood. It’s a gem!!
My favorite pool at Disney World is the Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Jambo House pool. It just has an amazing atmosphere to it.
Although my favorite overall pool area belongs to the Grand Californian at the Disneyland Resort. 3 large pools and 2 large jacuzzis all within 100 feet of each other. Can’t beat that.
But after our Aulani trip this June, I may have a new favorite. LOL

Hey Rick,
The Grand Floridian sure looks like a wonderful place to stay. It is definitely on my list of resorts that I want to stay at.
I love all of the Disney Resort Pools. I have only visited one but they all have a character of their own and each time I see a picture of a Disney Resort Pool I keep thinking to myself that I just got to go try it out.
Back in 2007 I stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort. The main pool was fun and had a character all of its own. But what I enjoyed the most was the small pool next to the building I was staying in. It wasn’t crowded and it was so refreshing to take a dip in the middle of the day or at night just before going to bed. One night I woke up in the middle of the night. I couldn’t get back to sleep so I took a dip in the pool. I had it all to myself.
Rick–how about highlighting the Moderate Disney Resorts and their pools?
See you next week.

The Grand Floridian is so awesome! My bride and I stayed there during our honeymoon and we took our two boys back there for the Christmas decorations, great memories! I so look forward to staying there again! My boys favorite pool was the Volcano pool at the POLY, so that’s my vote! Thanks so much Rick, keep smilin’ my friend!

My favorite thing about the Grand Floridian is definitely Victoria & Albert’s. You can’t get any better on Disney World property.
I’m not a huge fan of the pools at WDW because there is so much chlorine added, but if I had to pick one it would definitely be Stormalong Bay. That slide is awesome!
What castle can you see in the distance? 😉

I’ve only been in the Grand Floridian to eat. I had a character breakfast, a Villains Dinner, and a High Tea. Very elegant.
I have not been in all the pools of WDW but I have seen quite a few. They do such a great job with themeing the pools. Love the Caribbean Beach Resort’s Pirate themed pool. But there are so many that I would love to play in as well.

Shhhhh Rick, don’t tell everyone about GF Cafe!! Now they’ll all want to eat there, lol! I think it’s one of those hidden gems. We’ve also grabbed lunch there while at MK, or dinner.
Also loved Narcoossees and 1900. Those step sisters are hilarious.
Gasperilla’s is also good- the lobster Mac & Cheese is yum. But i could do without the Arcade right in the CS.
We’ve never stayed at GF, would have loved to see a room in your tour 🙂
Our fav pool in WDW has got to be SAB!
