Jump into the front of the Disneyland Monorail for a ride through Downtown Disney and into the heart of Tomorrowland – Episode 116
This week I’ll show you what it’s like to ride in the front of the Mark VII Disneyland Monorail. This is an original Disneyland attraction that takes you straight from Downtown Disney right into the Disneyland park.

Hi Rick! Great video this week! I LOVE to ride the monorails at Walt Disney World. That Disneyland Monorail looks awesome as well. I will have to make a trip out to ride it soon. Aside from my Love of monorails, I would have to say that my favorite mode of Disney transportation has to be riding the Friendships from Disney Studios to Boardwalk and/or Epcot. It’s a great, quiet, nice, slow, leisurely ride that allows you to see so many great views. I love seeing The Swan and Dolphin resorts as well as the Yacht and Beach Clubs and the view of the Boardwalk aboard the Friendships is spectacular. It’s something my wife and I do every trip, if for no other reason, just to have a nice sit down, in air conditioning, and enjoy the surroundings.

Hey Rick
Great video. I like the monorail in Walt Disney World. The Disneyland Monorail looked awsome too. My favorite mode of transportation in Disney World is the monorail. I really can’t explain why. I liked it since 2003. I liked it since I first saw it. Have a good week.

Hi Rick,
Thanks for another memory of my DL trip. I rode this monorail while at DL but I am glad they changed the seating at WDW.I didn’t like the horizontal seating because you only could see the side you were facing.
I really enjoy the WDW monorail and I always must take a boat trip to DTD when we stay at the POFQ .

Thanks for the ride through Disneyland…it brought back some wonderful memories! I remember my Dad taking us there as kids back when you had to buy the books with the A, B, C, D & E tickets. It was always frustrating when the E-tickets were gone. We couldn’t leave until we used up all the tickets…even the A ones!
Naturally, I love the monorail (I hope WDW gets some of those new ones soon), but I also love the boats that go from the Magic Kingdom to the monorail resorts. At the end of the day, they are so relaxing and quiet.

Hi Rick, Great episode. When we visited Disneyland we did not ride the monorail so this was a nice way to pick up something we missed while we were there. I have to say my favorite mode of transportation is the boats from Fort Wilderness Campground to the TTC. We make it a point to ride this at least once while we are at WDW. It is so relaxing and I like going by Discovery Island and OVER the road into the Comtempory Resort. Thanks for all you do and Keep on doing it, take care.

Hi Rick,
Great video of DL Monorail! I’ve had the pleasure of ridig it a few times and it really gives several nice views of the Disneyland Park. For my favorite type of transportation at WDW, and this will sound weird, but I like the buses (I seriously need some pshyciatric help!). The buses allow you to see alot of the Disney World properties and you don’t have to do the driving. My son, when he was very young, loved the buses because he wasn’t confined to car seat or stroller and it was sort of like an attraction ride in itself for him. Thanks alot!

Hey Rick,
That was a great video of the Disneyland Monorail. I have liked the monorail since I rode them for the first time when I was a child. They seemed so futuristic and reminded me of a spaceship. The monorail you showed in this video has a beautiful color.
But, my favorite mode of transportation at WDW is the bus. I love staying at a Disney Resort and being able to come and go as I please. And at the end of the day when the park closes and everyone is leaving it is such a relief to just go to my bus stop and be taken to my resort.
I have stayed off property at less expensive hotels that offer transportation to the parks. They drop you off at a park at a specific time and they pick you up at a specific time. Sometimes I have waited late at night wondering if the bus is going to come and how am I going to get back to my hotel if it doesn’t come or if I somehow missed it.
See you next week Rick.

I love the monorails! I hope someday to visit Disneyland and ride its monorail, they look awesome! The views of the park in your video look really cool! I love the monorail so much I have to stay at a monorail resort every time I visit WDW. I also love the boat transportation as well, so beautiful and peaceful! Thanks for a great video Rick, be safe and keep smilin’ my friend!

I can not wait to ride this monorail in august, I just may ride it all day. Interesting to know that you need your park ticket to get on I guess that may be a good thing.
I love all things Monorail so to answer the questions it would MONORAIL
I wish at WDW they would extend it to include at least all parks, and hope some day all hotels. I would think that would be cheaper then buses.

Being a frequent DL/DCA visitor we have had the pleasure of riding in the front as well. Great experience for the kids, they loved it too. Since this is no longer available I’m so happy this adventure is on film so to speak. Thanks again Rick for helping those of us who need a Disney ‘fix’.
Fav. mode of tx. in WDW would have to be the buses – especially very late at night as the driver has time to talk to you about little details. In DL we love to take a ride on the trams to the parking area even tho we rarely have a car, it just brings back that nostalgic feeling for us 😉

The DisneyLand Monorail looks like a totally different experience from the Disney World ones. Very pretty cars in DL, but I prefer the WDW ones because you never leave the magic of the parks. I wish there were Monorails to all locations in WDW. Then it would be my favorite transportation. If only the Monorail went to the airport! Maybe some day.
So buses become my favorite. It can be tireing waiting for them at the end of a long Disney day, but it is a nice ride and I have learned many interesting facts and trivia from the bus drivers.

Doing a triple shot today catching up on the 3 videos. This one was great. I have never been to DL. The ride was bumpy but the scenery was beautiful, at some spots it looked like a train ride through the mountains. Really nice thanks for sharing. My favorite transportation at DW is the monorail especially early in the morning, very quiet and relaxing.
