I think Astro Orbiter is the attraction I only need to experience once….as a matter of fact…I think I only have done this once! This is a ride that I can, and have, ridden at our local amusement park. Thanks for another great video, Rick.

Thanks for allowing me to experience Mission Space your way. My husband experienced the green version on our trip this May and now it’s one of his favorites at WDW. I just relaxed and waited for him to return after his mission. The WDW attraction I’ve done once and will never do again is Ellen’s Energy Adventure. Way too long at 37 minutes and no way to get off in the middle if you have to. Because of a motion sensitivity issue I have, I rode most of the time with my eyes closed. Never ever again.

What Fun,
I got to relive my experience with Mission Space. We were there last December and my 11 year old was determined to ride this. I made sure we did the green. I was a lot concerned when the restraint was pulled down on me. I felt very closed in and a little panicked. In the end it was a lot of fun and my son and our other team members made it a great experience. My son was insisting on riding the orange so I made my daughter and her boyfriend take him I couldn’t do it. So I guess on my next trip I will have to ride the orange to keep the sacred 7 # 5 rule.
So far there has not been any ride that I have decided not to ride again but the orange version may be it, we’ll see… Thanks for the video.

Great video Rick. That JL is a doll! You should have her on more often. Did the Mission Space green version once. May do it again but definitely will NOT do the other version. I’ve heard too many horror stories about bad experiances. As far as once only attractions, mine would have to be Primevil Whirl at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. My wife and I rode it once and we got slammed and bumped all over the place while riding it. I was sore for three days afterwards so unless I feel the need for a Chiropractic adjustment, I’ll be stayng off Primevial Whirl.

Thanks for the “green-side” trip. This was on my “1st time to ride” on my last trip and loved it. I was a little afraid of the motion since I still have to keep my eyes down for a lot of Star Tours, but it was awesome! Having an assignment gave me something else to focus on.
The one ride I have done, that I don’t need to do again is the Astro Orbiter – did this with my son several years back and I couldn’t wait for him to put it back in the low position and then get off! Funny, since I always liked the cable cars (sorry – don’t remember the official name) WDW used to have, but going in circles way up high really got to me!
Thanks again and congrats JL for conquering #5!

I immediatly thought of astro orbitor also.
We had a similar experience with mission space, we rode it when it first opened, when we got off there were people with their heads in every trash can getting sick! I got a horrible headache/stomach ache and swore NEVER again!
Maybe I will try it on the green side now, my son would really like to go on this attraction but we always say NO WAY!
Thanks!

Another great video Rick. I would love to try the green side of Mission Space but I’m claustraphic and hate the shoulder bars that come down and lock you in so I don’t think I will try it. The ride I only needed to experience once, although I’m very glad I rode it, was Expedition Everest.

Thanks for the video Rick! My “Fifth Tenet” ride is Test Track. Ugh! All that banging and bumping was not a bit of fun for me. 😀 I kept thinking that I wanted all that wait time in the queue back!

Hi Rick,
I have not tried Mission in Space because I have high bp so I won’t be trying this softer version either but I appreciated the video to just see what this attraction is all about.
My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary by going to Albert and Victoria’s at the GF and I wouldn’t want to experince that dinner again! We might as well have thrown the money out a window because we were not thrilled with this very elegant restaurant. I guess we are not gourmet enough! When we returned to our resort at the GF one cast member told us we could have asked for something else and they would have been happy to please us. We received a cake to take back to our room and we left it for the housekeeping staff.

The attraction I’ve done once, and will never do again is Sounds Dangerous at the Hollywood Studios. Very unimpressive. It sounds like Disney is phasing it out and only using it seasonally now. A permanent closure can’t be far off.
But at least I tried Sounds Dangerous once. I can guarantee I’ll never try Mission Space: Wimp team…….errrrrrrrrr Green team………….. ever.
I love the Orange team version and can’t imagine the point of doing this ride without the spinning.
Sure, I understand some people’s tummies can’t handle it.
That’s fine, I’m glad they have their own weakling version (green) to go on.
LOL.

I agree with the others, Mission Space is a one time deal for me! The action of the ride is way too much for my equilibrium. Thanks for another terrific video, Rick!

Hi Rick,
Awesome video! Thanks for that. My husband and I are going to WDW for the FIRST time in 2011 and I have to admit, I am really nervous for this ride. The green version seems like fun though and I think I can convince myself to me more excited.
One attraction that I have done and don’t feel I need to do again is Innoventions at Disneyland. There was some pretty neat stuff inside but most of them are just video games, nothing that exciting.
Thanks again for the video and I look forward to seeing more.

Thanks for sharing the “green” version of Mission: Space. It is one ride I have not gotten on because I am so claustrophobic and am sure I would need a barf bag even on the green version!
The think I won’t be doing again is eating at Sci-Fi Dine In. We had a very bad experience there, with several of our party getting sick. Friends had a similar experience several months after our visit. They have been permanently removed from our “must do” restaurant list!!
Thanks again, Rick, for helping me get my weekly Disney fix!

Thanks for this video! What fun!!!
I have never been on Mission:Space — it always scared me. However, I may have to try the green version on my next trip to WDW.
I can’t think of any experiences I’ve done at WDW and will never do again..oh wait, except for maybe the Tea Cups. I used to be able to do those as a kid…but now, “spinning” rides are a no go for me. So, Astro Orbiter is out too! 🙂
Thanks again for such a great video!

Rick, that was awesome. In the beginning I wondered if you would actually be able to film the entire ride. I rode Mission Space before they had a green version and it was definitely my once in a life time. It was the most intense ride I have ever experienced. Once was enough for me.

Great video! Mission Space is one ride I haven’t been on. My one-time ride would probably be Rock-n-Roller Coaster. Not a big roller coaster fan. Thanks again for the video and look forward to a video of the orange version soon!

Hi again Rick. Great video. I always denied riding Mission: Space. It scared me. I am now watching vids of the ride, and I am going on the orange version in 2011. The attraction that I did and refuse to go on is DINOSAUR at the Animal Kingdom Park. In 2003, my first trip, I freaked out. Now, to this day, I said I was never getting on it again. Waaay to scary for a Walt Disney World attraction. Have a good week. Looking forward for next week’s episode.

the one place we experienced and don’t have to do again is Cinderella’s Royal Table. Great show thanks again.

Thanks so much for this video. We were there for the opening day of Mission: Space but we would not ride the orange (and only) version. I can not do centrifudge rides. I would be sick for a week…no exagerating. But the green team looks good for a go, so next time I will try that. I love motion sim rides. Just don’t spin me or turn me upside down.
I agree with the commenter who would never do “Sounds Dangerous” again. I so much prefered the sound show that preceeded it. I hope they replace this one with something better…something with visuals.
Thanks again, and I can’t wait for the next installment of Travel with Rick.

Great Video Rick. I will definely do the ride the next time I go to WDW. For the question of the week–in 2007 I was at The Animal Kingdom. I was determined to go on almost every ride. I rode on several kids rides that had a lot of jerky movement. My back and neck were feeling it when I got done with those rides. I decided I didn’t need to ride any of those rides again.
See you next week.

Stitch’s great escape is the attraction I’ve only done once and that was more than enough for me. I am glad that I did it once though. Great video Rick and J.L. I will have to try the green version of Mission Space. I tried the orange side when that was the only option and it was a bit too intense for me. Thanks for posting this version.

Thanks Rick and JL! I’ve been so worried about riding Mission Space, since I get motion sick in a swimming pool! But JL put me at ease and I may try the green side next trip! Stitch’s Great Escape is just awful and needs replacing and the going backwards on Expedition Everest got me a little motion sick, but it was so much fun! Thanks again y’all, keep smiling and I can’t wait for next week!

Rick and JL,
Great video… Brings back bad memories. I too, like JL, experienced great discomfort on Mission Space when it first opened. Since then, I’ve been back to only do green once.
Now the one ride that I won’t ever do again, happens to be at Disney Quest. It’s the Roller Coaster Ride you develop. I let my son do the design and I think we did 50 million loops and turns. I was green coming out of that ride.
Well keep up the good work and hope to see you all one day at the parks.

I will never do Rockin’ Rollercoaster again.
[Reply]
I think we will not do Stitches great escape….. There was just a dark room and Stitch was supposed to escape and be running around loose. The bars came down to hold you in your seat, I guess to keep people from running around in the dark… Kids were screeming,,,, Not a fun place. Been there,,, done that… Not again..

Rick,
LOVE your site! Thanks so much for the Mission: Space @ Epcot video…Now that I’ve “seen” the ride I’m REALLY looking forward to going “green.” I was pretty leery about going on at ALL to be honest. But, after experiencing it online I’m THERE..come October….
Thanks Again,
Maryu

I’ve been terrifed to try out Mission Space…but I think I may give the green version a try on my next trip!
I will never go to the Princess Story Book Dining in the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall….The food….EWWW! ha We didn’t like it at all!

We did Dinosaur in AK and I have no interest in doing it again. It was just because it was such a rough ride and it gave me whiplash. I had a migraine the rest of the day after riding it.

We were warned about Mission Space Orange, but sadly we didn’t heed the warnings. My poor son (age 9) threw up “during” the ride (1st ride of the day) and guess what…our capsule was out of barf bags!!!!! He got sick all over my husband, so we had to head back to Animal Kingdom Lodge. He got sick again on the bus ride back and again in the room. All in all, it took nearly 4 hours for him to recooperate enough to head back to the parks. Needless to say, once was enough for us. 🙂
