I just love Peter Pans Flight! Thank you for another super video Rick. We think Blizzard Beach is just awesome. The slides are great and the theming is really fun. Just 8 days and we will be at the Contemporary so I can’t wait to see your video on BLT. I just wish we could stay in there too!
    Thanks again!

Hi Rick. Thanks for the video. We will have to try this ride when we get there in Dec. We Have only been to Blizzard Beach and we are hoping to go to Typhoon lagoon this year. My favoritor is just floating along on the rivers that go around the park. My sons would be the slides that go fast.

I think or family won’t be able to fit in one boat anymore but I still love this ride. Can’t wait to ride it again. Unfortunately I have never been to the Disney water parks, we go to disney every year and have never been to a water park. I know I know bad bad. 🙂 Thanks Rick, you get me through another week until my vacation at WDW.

Great video, my daughter and I are heading down to WDW this Sunday and we both decided that we wanted to revisit some of the rides that we haven’t done since our first trip when my daughter was 7 so we might end up on Peter Pan next week. Can’t wait to see you video of BLT. I love Typhoon Lagoon especially Shark Reef but our favorite water ride is Kali River Rapids at Animal Kingdom where you get as wet as if you were in a pool.

Hi Rick! Thanks for the video! It is a must do me each trip as well, as are most of the Fantasyland attractions! Big kid here! My favorite water park is Typhoon Lagoon! I love Shark Reef and my favorite think about TL is the wave pool! Love, love, love those big waves…and the screams when you hear the big whoosh and see that wall of water headed you way! SO FUN! Back in the day (lol) you used to be able to take air mattresses (supplied by TL) into the wave pool and you could ride a wave ALL THE WAY to the shore! That was also a blast but even without it, it is still so much fun! Love the music there too! I hit day 19 on my trip countdown and can’t wait to get there! During our 11 day trip we are hitting Typhoon Lagoon twice and Blizzard Beach once! Good times are coming soon! YAY!

Thanks, Rick. Not a big water park person, but my favorite was River Country, which is no longer! Oh, well….progress!

Hey, Rick! You know, Peter Pan’s Flight is the only ride in Fantasyland that we are willing to wait on the line for. We never miss it! In 15 visits, we’ve never done a water park BUT we love the slide at the pool at the Boardwalk Inn and the we also love the pool at Yacht and Beach Club. Funny story, we stayed at AKL but wanted to swim at Y&B so we went over and were promptly told to leave but my sister insisted we could stay and so we sort of hid behind potted plants and swam underwater when an attendant was near by and then I got swept up in the lazy river part and couldn’t get out…it was wild! But it was well worth it to experience that pool!

Thanks again for another great video Rick!
Peter Pans Flight isn’t one of my favorites, but my wife Loves it so we ride it at least every other trip if the lines aren’t too long. It’s a nice ride, and I Love the music, but it’s just too darn short for me. It seems like we stand in line for the longest time and once you get on, it’s over before you know it. We’re not really water people so we don’t have a favorite water park. We do enjoy Splash mountain though, but lately we’ve been getting soaked on that attraction. I swear we didn’t used to get that wet years ago. They must have turned up the water pressure or something. 🙂

I like this ride. We will be riding it on our next trip. My favorite water ride is the Kali River Rapids at Animal Kingdom. My son loves to taunt me about being the one who will get wet and gets everyone in our boat to cheer with him when it spins me into the water. For some reason I always get wet…

Loved the video of Peter Pan’s Flight. It is one of my favorite rides in Fantasyland, too.
We haven’t done any of the water parks yet–always too many other things to fit in during our trip. And, since we usually go in the fall/winter, it is often too cool for a day in the pool. We do love Splash Mountan, though, and try to ride it on every visit.
Looking forward to the video/pictures of Bay Lake Tower. Have a great trip to Atlanta!

  12. Rick,
Good video. For some reason, we have never gotten on Peter Pan, usually think of it in the heat of the day and it is packed.
But we are coming down on Aug 22 and it is my mission to get on it.

While we love the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon, my family’s favorite is Blizzard Beach. We love racing side by side on Toboggan Racers.

I’m a big fan of Peter Pan’s Flight. The video didn’t do it justice, but that’s OK, as I know the dark conditions make it difficult. We’ve never been to a water park at Disney and don’t really plan to…..so I will say I love Splash Mountain and Kali River Rapids for a couple of great water rides.

This is another ride we ‘always’ do! My husband is like you…he MUST do it! Brings back a lot of happy memories he says. I used to get a kick out of the black light area when we would have the hand stamps….all the stamps would suddenly appear!!

As far as ‘favorite’ water park memory….not a ‘favorite’ but definitely something I will never forget! We were in Tyhoon Lagoon to swim with the sharks…seemed like an easy enough idea…..Well……….my husband went in…my kids went in….then I went in….I do not like the water one bit….I put my face in the water, with the snorkel and mask in place…and had a MASSIVE panic attack!! Flew out of the tank and ran my way through the long line to get out of that place!!

We love Peter Pan flight. The last time we were there in Jan 09, the line was so long everytime we tried to go on it that we couldn’t. All the other rides were 5 to 10 min’s but that one was 45 to 50 min’s. That shows that everyone else loves it too. Our best water ride is splash mt because you go down fast and you can get soaked. Thanks Rick.

Love the backyard casual. I kept expecting the camera conscious cat to come back and pose in the background.:)
Anyway, I love the Peter Pan ride. It’s probably my favorite in Fantasyland.
Water parks? …I’ve only been to Blizzard Beach and I did love it. I usually go to WDW during cooler months so I don’t get there much, but it is awesome. Hint: wear water shoes. The paths get very very hot.

Wow, PPF always takes me back to my first experience at a Disney park: Christmas Day, 1964 at Disneyland. My fondest memories are of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride and Peter Pan’s Flight. Since PPF is the only survivor of that triad at WDW, I always make it a point to enjoy it a few times on my visits. Is there a bigger thrill in all of Fantasyland than flying over London in a pirate ship? I think not!

I have yet to visit a water park during a Disney trip, so I’ll have to substitute Splash Mountain.

We really enjoyed the video this week. Peter Pan’s Flight is one of our must do’s at Disney. Just feels like you are flying. Love the music in it too.
The only water park we have been to was River Country. We stayed at Fort Wilderness & camped so we took our 4 boys to River Country. They used to have a train that went from there to Fort Wilderness & that was always fun. That’s all gone now though. Have fun at Bay Lake Towers!

Hey Rick, Too often I tend to think that Fantasy Land is just for small children. I think I need to go back and experience it all over again. Seeing Peter Pan’s Flight was great.

I find myself reading the children’s stories associated with the rides and attractions at Disney World. Over the past few years I have read all of the Tom Sayer/Huckleberry Finn books, Peter Pan, and now I am reading the stories about Brer Rabbit–Splash Mountain. The rides are a lot more fun and come alive when you know the story behind them.

Favorite water park and ride: Typhoon Lagoon/Crush ‘N’ Gusher. I enjoyed the ride so much I rode it 6 times the last time I was there.

One last thing Rick–I have been watching on youtube the parade at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Unless I win the lottery I won’t be able to see it this year so I thought maybe you could take a video of it and post it on Travel with Rick.

I always enjoyed the Peter pan ride when we go to the Magic Kingdom. Our favorite water park is is Typhoon Lagoon. I enjoy the slides. My daughter likes Crushing Gusher and mom like the Surf pool. It’s always the most fun of our trip next to being a kid again.

  26. Kevin Nelson says:

Thanks Rick! Peter Pan is a must do every year for our family. If we don’t fast pass it we will ride it during a parade to cut down on the wait times, so simple as far as technology but oh so popular! I think that’s cool! We haven’t visited a water park but we love, love, love Splash Mountain, and we do get wet on that. Only 40 more days till our WDW vacation, Life is great! Keep up the great work my friend and keep smiling!

    Rick,

Thanks for the video on Peter Pan. It has been one of our favorites since we started going when I was four years old. Even though, compared to all of the rides that are more “current”, we always marvel at the 45-1hr wait times for this attraction. Walt definitely created a ride that has stood the test of times and has kept us flying to an fron Neverland over many many years!

Thanks again for all of the hard work that you put into your blog and vids. Plus all of your tweets on Twitter!

    Have a good one!

Cute Cat! I was wondering if she was going jump in and cool off(ha ha). I love the Peter Pan Flight, we do it every time we are there. I don’t really have a favorite water park ride but the water park we usually end up at is Blizzard Beach. Can’t wait for the video on BLT.

I love Peter Pan! Thanks so much. Unfortunately, we have not visited the water parks. We usually go in the winter. However, I have seen people go to the water parks at that time of year. I am just not that adventuresome! I have gone in the pool in the winter at the Contemporary. It is nicely heated. Looking forward to the next video.

Thanks for the video Rick. I love Peter Pan, but have missed it the last few times. I took my granddaughter when she was 3 and she loved it – just about climbed out to see the city! Glad I had hold of her – Just a warning for those real little ones….some of the sights are hard to see.

I have never visited the water parks YET! Hope to next trip. My favorite water ride is Kali River…the day I ride that one, I’m in water sandals & light weight clothes so they dry quickly!

As always great video. One of my personal favorites. Your question is harder than you think. Each of the water parks has something different to enjoy even though they are basically the same. If I had to choose it would be Typhoon Lagoon mostly because it was the first one I visited on my first trip to WDW.

39 days and counting until our next trip!!!

    Hiya Rick!

Another fantastic video. Peter Pans flight was one of my favorite rides in fantasyland. My favorite water park is Blizzard Beach, partly because we’ve never gone anywhere else! My favorite ride is the really big one, whose name escapes me! I love how fast you can go and how steep it is!
    Thanks for the great video!

PS… We are going to be in disney world from the 15-22. Are you going to be there to?

Just got back from Disney. Oh how I miss it already. This is one of my favorite rides. I didnt want to watch this episode until I came back. I figured it would help me reminisce.
    Loved it.. THANKS.
Our favorite water park it Typhoon Lagoon. Although, WDW reservations did not add the water park or more option to my pass this time. Had some unhappy visitors…Next time.
