    Hi Rick!

Great video. I loved the Pirates of the Carribbean when i went on it last.

My favorite time of the year party is Mickeey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. When we went in Oct 2007, my dad dressed up as mr. incredible. kids were actually asking for his autograph

    Hi Rick, Great video again!
This attraction is so great from the entrance all the way to the exit. We are going in late August and this is at the begining of our list of “Must See”. My favorite Hard ticket event is the MNSSHP also. My hsband was approached by several children and he would say “Stay in school kids” but made sure they knew he wasn’t the REAL Mr. Incredible. I’ve ideas for questions – What is your favorite Disney Hat? Or What is your favorite country in EPCOT? E-Mail me if you want more!
Love this site and love looking at your info on Kingdom Magic Vacations.
    Thank you, Jeanne

Thanks for another great video, Rick! Pirates of the Caribbean is one of our favorite rides. We always ride at least twice where we visit the World.

Our favorite hard ticket event is the MNSSHP. We will be going again this year on October 31st. My granddaughter thinks it’s the only way to trick-or-treat and we love the “Boo To You” parade (love the theme song!!)

Thanks again for your great videos–they help me get my Disney fix for the week!!

My favorite hard ticket event has to be Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Just the overall experience of the parades, the lights, the snow on main street, and especially, the hot cocoa put me in the beautiful spirit of Christmas. Thank you.

Finally caught up all of your wonderful videos. Love the new widescreen format! And love POC as well. Being a bit of a purist, I wasn’t sure if refurbing the original to become a “ride based on a movie” was a good idea, but I have to admit the changes aren’t bad at all.

As for the QoftW, I have to say that I’ve never visited the WOrld during a special event, but the one that would most interest this geeky old man would be Star Wars Weekend.

Have a good trip this week, Looking forward to your tweets from WDW!

Nothing better than Pirates of the Caribbean! Always something we ride multiple times every time we visit Magic Kingdom. The only special event we’ve visited is Star Wars Weekend. It was great. Would like to see the Christmas Party though.

    Loved the Pirates this week!

Pirates is the best…so glad they did put it in Disney World.
Never went to a hard ticket event, so do not have a favorite. Was there on halloween and loved everyone in costume.

Great video although I don’t think a video can give the ride the justice it deserves. This is my son’s favorite ride but at first the halogram almost sent him jumping out of the boat, once we got through the first time he wanted to ride it over and over. Sorry i can’t add any info on my favorite special event because I haven’t attended any but may be the next time I go I will. Again thanks for the videos I love them. Hey maybe we could cover some information about Hidden Mickey’s. My son is asking about it so we can look for them on our trip in December and I don’t know much to tell him.

Great video. POTC is always our first attraction when we go to The Magic Kingdom. We always ride it at least twice when we’re there.
Favorite Hard ticket for us is always Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party. Disney goe’s all out with the decorations at christmas time and we Love it!

Great video. Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my all time favorite rides from the minute you enter the line to riding up the hill on the way out. I’ve only ever been to one hard ticket event and that was MNSSHP but it was wonderful and we actually did it twice. Maybe one year I’ll be lucky enough to be down during MVMCP.

Who doesn’t love Pirates of the Caribbean? It’s always been one of my favorite rides at Disney. And since the movies of been out, it’s only gotten better.

For a suggestion for the question of the week, how about favorite Disney Resort, and why? Maybe people can share some advice and stories about why they enjoy a certain Disney Resort.

    Thanks for sharing the videos!

  14. Sandy Chang says:

POTC is one of our favourite attractions. I often find myself humming “yo ho, yo ho, A pirates life for me” Thanks for posting it.

My favourite special event is Mickey’s not so scary halloween Party. We went Oct.’08 and had a blast. We each dressed up as a different disney character. We are going to attend Mickey’s very Merry Christmas Party this November and I can’t wait!!

Love the Priates – especially since they re-vamped with characters from the movies. This is also a great place when its hot outside!

I am embarrassed to say I have never been to a hard-ticket event in all the 15+ times at WDW……My favotire time of the year is a tie with the Food & Wine Festival and Christmas.

As far as question of the week – I’d love to know everyone’s favorite “Out of the Way Thing” to do while at WDW. I’d love to hear what others do to get off the beaten path so to speak and away from the hustle of people and the rides…….maybe a favorite area to sit – chill and watch the crowds or a parade. I know I have several things we “must” do each time we visit.

I love the Pirates of the Caribbean! Thanks for the great video. I think my favorite hard ticket event is MNSSHP. Maybe you could ask what their favorite “skit” that actors do around the parks. Like the Director at Hollywood studios or Captain Jack Sparrow act that is located around “Pirates of the Caibbean”.

  17. Linda says:

We came on the pirate attraction shortly after it opened on one of our first trips to Disney some 28 years ago, didn’t know anything about it and was completely trilled with it. Remains a must do everytime I go, and I’ve just returned from my 19th trip to Disney. Thank you for the site, comes in handy when I need a disney fix here in Delaware. Favorite time Halloween and Christmas at the Park, lest favorite August.

Great video. My youngest son has always been the pirate fanatic. This is a ride we would go on over and over again!! He is 12 now, so we only ride it a couple of times. Love the enhancement to the ride.

Our favorite is the Halloween party. It is such an awesome time 🙂 I love the special effects pictures that they take. Also, the Cinderella carriage picture spot at the event.

Another favorite ride for me. This song gets stuck in my wifes head. I got another week before we go.

My favorite ticketed event. We have only done the Christmas Party so that would have to be it. Did not do much though the kids were still young so was unable to get the full effect of it.

I really missed your show while my computer was down with a virus.
Anyway, I usually ride Pirates first when I go to the Magic Kingdom, and it was great to see the new additions, since I haven’t been there in a while. 🙁
I love the Halloween party with the ghosts everywhere, but I also love the Christmas party. So that’s a toss up.
You asked for questions to ask of the viewers. So how about…
    What’s you favorite “retired” attrtaction?
    and…
What Disney movie would you love to see as a new attraction?

    [Reply]

  22. Brian Dixon says:

That was a lot of fun Rick. Can’t wait to see what you see at the D23 week (you will be doing video of that right?)! My favorite event is the Christmas party. Love the festivities and my wife and I got married at WDW during that time of year in ’02… so sentiment is everything 🙂

As for extras, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is really nice to see. Being at the World during X-Mas is something not to be missed. They do such a great job decorating.

Love Pirates of the Caribbean! We rode it a bunch of times on our last trip- Cap. Jack was definitely a cool addition. I have actually never been to a ticketed event at WDW, but this year I am going to Mickey’s Very Merry Xmas Party!

A couple questions you can ask the viewers:
*What are your favorite recreation-type things to do in WDW?
*If you could choose a country to be represented in World Showcase, what would it be and why?

  27. Michael Brookins says:

Favorite ticketed or special event is the Halloween Party. We took the kids and did a ton of trick or treating. Only bad part was we spent so much time doing that, not many rides taken in. Then the parade and fireworks are spooky cool. After those the little ones were beat tired.

Looking forward to hitting Pirates this July/August on our family trip. It stays nice and cool on those hot and humid summer days, so it’s refreshing.

    Hi Rick,
Great video this week. I have to say that I do not have a favorite hard ticket event at Disney because I have never been to one. I have always wanted to go, but I never seam to have the time to fly 2 hours down to florida and go.

    Thanks again for the video,

Thanks Rick, The Pirates of the Caribbean is a must see for everyone traveling to WDW! My favorite hard ticket event is MNSSHP, the boys have a ball dressing up and seeing all the other guests dressed up. Special fireworks and parade, its the best, can’t wait for September! Questions of the week- Favorite childhood memory? Favorite character meal? or Tell about the magic of your first trip to WDW. Anyway enjoy your time at the greatest place on earth, smile, life is great!

Thanks Rick. We enjoyed this in January 2009 and it was great. I think they modified it since I last rode it in 1999. It is more like the movie, but pretty much kept it intact. Always popular and a great break when it gets warm in Orlando. I remember the cannon ball blasts being more powerful and more water splashed as well..maybe they did not want to scare any really little passengers. A Disney Classic.

  31. Hey, Rick! Great to see the pirates. Can’t believe that you didn’t shoot the conveyor belt on the trip back up — the boot and peg leg stenciled on it always make me crack up!

Favorite hard-ticket? Toss-up between MVMCP and MNSSHP. More special entertainment for MVMCP, better spread of decor (and more inventive) throughout the park on MNSSHP, free cookies & cocoa for MVMCP, free candy for MNSSHP, better fireworks for MVMCP, better parade for MNSSHP.

More question ideas? Feel free to steal some of my old Twitter poll questions. I’m working on coming up with more myself!

Thanks Rick for the reminder of how great the Pirates of the Caribbean ride is at WDW. We had a great time on the ride and still can’t belive how real Jack Sparrow looks. We haven’t been to WDW for MNSSHP but would like to try to go this year since we are annual passholders for WDW.

    Hey Rick,

Thanks for another great video. I didn’t realize there was a difference between Disneyland and WDW for Pirates of the Caribbean. It has always been a favorite ride. My favorite hard ticket event is MNSSHP. It is the only one I have been to. I would like to see it every year. I would also like to see MVMCP. I hope some day to make it to Disney World for Christmas.

Thanks Rick for the video! This is whetting my appatite for our Aug. trip. Pirates is one of my must do’s every trip.
The only hard ticketed event we’ve gone to is the P&PP. We went in Jan 08, but this past Jan. they didn’t have it. We liked it because there were no waits, better than the Extra Magic Hours. We went on Space Mtn 3 times in a row. Guess this makes up for the closure now!
