Thanks for the Castle tour it was cool. How funny that I just watched the movie Tangled this week. I believe that October Fest was originally in celebration of the Prince’s marriage. I think it was some kind of horse race or something.

    Thanks for another great show!
That Knight was pretty awesome. I read somewhere years ago that Octoberfest started like 200 years ago as a wedding and a horse race in Munich. Not sure who got married or which horse won but it’s obviously still being celebrated on all over the world now.

    Hi Rick,
Loved the video and would love to visit Germamy but I guess I will have to be
satisfied with visiting Germany at Epcot.

The original ” Oktoberfest” began in Munich on Ocober 12, 1812. For the public commemoration of their marriage that took 5 days before Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese organized a horse race . It was well accepted
and this is why it is continued today.

Hey Rick, Another great episode. I would really love to go on an Adventure by Disney tour. Oktoberfest was first celebrated on October 12, 1810 in Munich Germany to celebrate the marriage of Crown Price Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen.

    See you next week.

Where will you and your family go next on a Adventures by Disney tour? I agree with the posts above about how Oktoberfest started, wikipedia is great! I’m looking forward to next week, until we meet again, y’all keep smilin’!

Oktoberfest started with a wedding and a horse race, and then a parade was added. On top of that an agricultural element was added and from there it evoled to the first tapping of the beer for that year. Phew.
Most people know only about the beer.
I wish we could have seen more of the castle. I love castles.
That’s an interesting fact about the Brothers Grimm just writing down all the stories, but I guess they did it well, because they are still told and retold today. Originally a lot of them were quite scary.
Every place you go, Rick, I now want to see. You do a great job of showing just enough to make me want to venture out to new places.
