Haven’t been to Disneyland in years because we usually do WDW. But I do remember a small little train, a circus train I believe, which was my very favorite because it reminded me of being a small child. Thanks, Rick!

Thanks for sharing Disneyland’s Splash Mountain. We haven’t been to Disneyland yet, but are planning a trip out to California in the next couple of years. Hopefully we will be able to visit all of the Disney venues while we are there.

Hope you have a great time at the D23 Expo–wish I could be there!!

I love Disneyland! My favorite childhood memory would be just walking onto Main Street for the first time, the sights and sounds were just so beautiful. Thanks for another great video.

    Hey Rick!

I love riding the monorail at Disneyland because it is so much like a ride and a tour of the park. I really like the quaintness of Disneyland and how everything is walking distance when staying at a Disney Resort.

    Have a great day!

I have never been to Disneyland or anywhere over to the west coast yet but I would like to visit Disneyland someday just to see how different the rides are compared to Walt Disney World. I love Splash Mountain (in Disney World since I’ve never been to Disneyland). It’s one of my favorite rides. Doesn’t the water from this ride ruin your lens on the video camera? I took a video camera when I went to WDW in 2008. I didn’t take the camcorder on this ride because I was afraid the water would screw up my $500 investment. So I left it with my wife who chickened out on this ride. Anyway, take a look at my experience I had and have had with WDW in the past. Check it out at http://www.mydisneyworldvacation.blogspot.com
Thanks Rick for another good video.

As always thanks Rick I really enjoy the videos. I have never been to Disneyland, I did see it as we drove to L.A. many years ago.

That video was a lot of fun. I don’t remember Splash Mountain being at Disneyland but I haven’t been there since 1988. I can’t wait to go back and see it all again. It will seem like a first time for me. My favorite used to be the Skyway. We would take a picture of each other across the car, it was always a great effect with the park spread out below and behind us. I don’t think it’s there anymore so I will have to find another favorite. Hopefully you were able to get some footage from the Expo itself. I would love to see how it was set up or if there were any other special arrangements they made for all the activities.

Thanks again for my weekly Disney fix. It always brightens my day.

    Hi Rick,
I finally had a chance to visit DL this past April. I was 11 when DL fitst opened and I told my dad I was going there someday. Little did I know I would be retired before I got there! What impressed me most was the fact that I was entering Walt’s first park.
I did ride Splash Mt. but I prefer the sitting side by side that is at DW.

Enjoy D23 it sure does sound wonderful and isn’t the Aneheim Convention Center beautiful! I love the strret lined with the palm trees.

Thanks for the Disneyland Splash Mountain video. It is quite differant from The One in Walt Disney World. I’ve never been to Disneyland but hope to get there some day.

I haven’t been to Disneyland since I was a child, but I remember the feeling of wonder as I walked onto Main Street because it was just how I imagined it to be from what Walt Disney had told us it would be.

Loved it Rick! It’s been over 20 years since I was @ Disneyland and we are hoping to go back next spring with oug latest Grandson, who will be 6. He will love Splash Mountain. Can’t wait to see more of Disneyland, so I can plan our trip like we do for WDW.
I can’t remember much from Disneyland other then 20,000 Leagues
Under the Sea! It scared me to “go under water” until I figured it out – I was such a wimp when I was younger. I was sad to see 20,000 Leagues go by the way side in WDW.
Keep up the great work and I can’t wait to see more from Disneyland and D23 Expo.

Although I’ve been dying to go to DisneyLand I still have not gotten out there. Some day!
I envy you meeting Imagineers. It must have been awesome.
I hope you have some more videos of DL rides. I like to see how they differ from WDW rides. Again, some day I hope to be able to compair for myself.
    Thanks for the videos.

Hey Rick, I enjoyed watching the video. I am currently reading the stories about Brer Rabbit. Seeing the video of this ride and the character and story scenes really got me excited. I can’t wait to ride on this ride again. I remember visiting Disneyland just after the Pirates of the Caribbean ride opened up. I wasn’t sure if those were real pirates and if they were shooting real bullets at us. I was just at Disneyland in March of this year. My fondest memories of that visit was the Indiana Jones attraction and the Aladin play at the California Adventure Park.

We’ve been to Disneyland only once and I have to agree the fact that Walt was there himself made it special. I liked how the castmembers will point out artifacts and information that was specific to Walt.

My favorite memory while we were there was my 2 older daughters went to ride Tower of Terror with their Daddy so I had my 4 year old and 6 month old waiting for them and The Monsters Inc ride caught my daughter’s eye. We must have been there at the perfect time because we rode that ride FIVE times in the amount of time it took my husband to get back with the girls from the Tower of Terror. My 4 year old thought she had hit the jack pot. I still remember her giggling and wonderful smile. It was even nicer since that ride is not available at WDW where we go at least every other year.

I also liked their version of Space Mountain better than WDW. I am hoping the work they are doing currently at WDW brings it up to par of Disneyland.

Thanks so much Rick! I to hope to venture west to Disneyland! I think I will wait for the new Cars Land to open, that looks really AWESOME! I will be in WDW next week, maybe I’ll run into you on the 23rd! Keep up the great work and keep smiling, we have so much to be thankful for!

My favorite childhood memory is riding Captain Nemo’s sub from “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”. I honestly thought we had gone under the ocean. Thanks for the great videos. Looking forward to the next one!

    Hi Rick,
I live near San Francisco so I go to Disneyland every couple years. I love it! And California Adventure is wonderful too! I love walking down main street and looking up at the window where Walt’s little studio was. My favorite thing is mostly the feeling I get when I’m there. Being at DL makes me feel like a child again, I get all giddy and do a little dance as soon as I walk through the gate. My husband doesn’t quite get it, but he takes me there whenever possible anyway, because he loves me so much and loves seeing the humongous smile on my face that won’t seem to go away. I wish you’d write more about DL.
