Thank you so much for posting this. Seeing the Castle at Christmas is the highlight of any WDW year!! Sad I can’t be there but at least I get to see it this way.
Thanks!

Absolutely AWESOME! I had seen this for the first this year…and happily I was standing right there with you! Words truly can not describe the beauty of the castle. I had shown the photos of this to my daughter earlier and when she saw it earlier this week, she said the same thing…photos and video, no matter how spectacular, can not capture how magnificent it really looks!
I have 2 favorites now with the holidays decorations….although one really isn’t a decoration! I love the castle lighting and the holiday version of Illuminations always blows me away!
If you have never been to Walt Disney World during the holidays, you don’t know what you are missing!

Thanks so much Rick! We saw Cinderella’s Holiday Wish last year, and your right, the video doesn’t do it justice, the castle lights in person are absolutely unbelievable! My favorite WDW holiday decorations are the DHS Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, I stood in awe of what I was seeing and hearing as the music danced with the lights and the falling faux snow was to cool! There is no place on Earth like WDW at Christmas time! We have so much to be thankful for! Thanks Rick for making me smile, I just loved the video this week, and I’m looking forward to next week!

So beautiful.
We wanted to make it for December this year, but too many things to schedule. Maybe next year, just ignore everything else and make time for us.
I saw many of the decorations, unlit – in November, but have yet to make it when they are all turned on.

Truly awesome! That was the best “Warn & Fuzzy” feeling for the holidays!
I haven’t been to WDW @ Christmas time for several years now, but the one thing I used to really enjoy and used to spend time sitting under was the lights over the walk-way from Future World to World Showcase in EPCOT. It made me so sad to learn that was no longer being used. I hope with all the advanced technology that WDW is known for – they will re-do and include in the years to come! Maybe they will have for the next time when I can be there during the holidays.
Again – absolutely LOVED the video this week – Thank-you for that holiday feeling!

Thanks Rick! Great video!
We’ve yet to see the castle lighting ceremony but have a trip planned for next November and are really looking forward to seeing this in person.
I have been to Walt Disney World twice around the holidays and the thing that sticks in my mind the most is the Giant Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. That thing was enormous and the smell…well..to this day I can still close my eyes and smell the gingerbread.

Thanks Rick for the wonderful video. We have several favorites for decorations
at WDW. The trees outside the Animal Kingdom, Osborn Lights in the Studios, Gingerbread house in the Grand Floridian, trees in Epcot and the entire Magic Kingdom all are so very beautiful. Happy holidays to you Rick and all of your staff and especially to our very, very favorite Colleen Anastasi.

Hey Rick,
Thanks for bringing this to those of us who can’t get to WDW for Christmas. Even on video it sends chills down my spine. Can’t wait to see it again in person.
My first favorite decoration has to be the Wilderness Lodge decked out for Christmas. I just love the old world feel of it dressed up in it’s Christmas best. And while the Castle is probably the other one, that is a little too easy given the video so I will say the Gateway to the World Showcase at EPCOT. You just have to slow down as you pass under the canopy of lights and let the beautiful music wash over you.
If it is truly no longer in use, it would be a shame.

Thanks, Rick! Seeing the castle light up at Christmas is so awesome! Sorry I’m not going to see it this year in person.
I have two “must see” decorations for Christmas at WDW. I love the Osbourne Spectacle of Dancing Lights and the Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian. I liked the canopy of lights at Epcot, too, and am glad I got to see them last year, since they aren’t there this year. Who am I kidding, I love all of the holiday decorations at Walt Disney World!!

Oh wow. If it’s even better in person I’d be a goner watching it there in person. I cried watching it on video! 🙂 Thanks for this glimpse since I can’t be there now.
I could not pick a favorite decoration. They are all so magnificent. I do have very fond memories of the music switch at The Caribbean Beach resort at Christmas time. The Calipso music turns Calipso Christmas. How I wish I could buy a CD of that.

WOW!!!! That was absolutely amazing. It was so beautiful, I can imagine how breathtaking it must be seeing it in person.
I haven’t been at WDW during Christmas time so I can’t really say which holiday decoration is my favorite. Someday I hope I’ll be able to visit.

Oh, I love it! We just booked a trip for the first week of December 2010 and are SO excited! I’m going to cry like a baby when I see the castle light up like that in person, the Disney fanatic that I am! Ugh, I love it! Can’t wait till next year!

That was absolutley fabulous!! I have never been to Disney at Christmas time. It really makes me wish I could return there soon.

Hi Rick,
Thank you for making my day! Rick, on November 11 I was life-flighted to a Pittsburgh,PA hospital with blood clots in my lungs. I’m so thankful to be here today and to enjoy this wonderful video. I hope to see this castle show in person someday. I had tears because I love DW so much and to think that I may have not ever seen it again makes me shiver. God was good to me!
Happy Holidays!

I don’t know if I have one favorite, but I do love seeing the chocolate creations the talented staff come up with at the resorts. This year seeing Stitch at the Boardwalk was really special as he’s my favorite!

As you know Rick my family and I just got back from WDW a little less than a month ago and the castle lighting was the absolute highlight of the entire trip. This was the first time my parents have been to Disney and the sight of my childern sitting on their grandparents lap when that castle lit up is beyond comparison to anything.
As for our favorite holiday decorations I have 2. The first is multiple things but one central theme, I love the Christmas trees at the entrance of each park. The second and my most favorite has to be the Osborne family lights in Hollywood Studios. The highlight of the lights is looking for all the hidden Mickeys.
Thanks Rick,
Duane

thank you for another great show. the only place that my family have ever seen that was decorated for Christmas was the All Star Music when we were at Walt Disney world During the month of November. It was a wonderful surprise to wake up to. The day we arrived it was a normal resort the next morning it was Christmas. Thank once again for everything.

Thanks for another great episode of Travel with Rick! It brought tears to my eyes! I dont think I could pick a favorite decoration, I LOVE the Osbourne Lights, the Castle lights, got to add the Magic Kingdom Christmas Tree and in fact all the trees at all of the resorts! Also the holidays fireworks specials, I guess everything – nowhere in the world does Christmas like Walt Disney World!!

Thank you so much for the terrific video. My family recently returned from our first trip ever to Disney and Magic Kingdom was our favorite! We saw the castle lit up at night and watched as it changed colours…what a site! I’m so thankful we met a wonderful family from the U.S. while on vacation – they sent me this link! Thanks so much!

Wow! That was fantastic Rick. I have definitely got to go to WDW at Christmas time. Since I have never been to WDW during the Christmas holiday I think my favorite Christmas decorations or celebrations would be the castle lighting ceremony at the Magic Kingdom, the Holidays Around The World at Epcot, and all the resorts decorated for the holidays.
Rick, I finished reading the book “Crush It” that you sent me. It is a great book. When I find my “DNA” I will put the advice from the book to good use. Last week I recieved the Passporter from your staff. That is a fantastic guide book. I can’t wait to use it to plan my next trip to WDW.
Thank you so much for both of these books. And thank you for the video each week. I always look forward to seeing your videos each week.
Have a Magical Holiday!

Hi Rick,
We just left Disney World 4 days ago. It is the best place to be during the holiday season. The castle is so beautiful and the changing colors are amazing. Then the snow falling during Micky’s very merry christmas party just tops it off. This is my favorite time to go to Disney.

Dear Rick, Thank you for showing the Cinderella Castle lighting ceremony. Everyone should be allowed to visit WDW once in their lifetime. Maybe their would not be any war. WDW puts everyone in such a good state of mind.. Also what is also favorite to me is the gingerbread house at the Grand Floridan….MAGICALLY SUPERB!!!
[Reply]
Wow, so amazing, that would be so great to see in person, I have only been to Disneyland at Christmas and thought it was so special and also very cool when it snows on Main Street. I am hoping to get to WDW before the end of this year. I always enjoy the entrance to the parks at the holidays and how the entire park is decorated so wonderfully.
There is currently a show on HGTV that is called “Behind the Magic: Disney Holidays” with David Bromstad that is great to watch.

Again, awesome job Rick. Thank you so much for the beautiful video. This is why I have to have you on my radio show again, I get to live my Disney dreams thru your video

We just saw this holiday castle lighting for the first time a little over a week ago. Disney World is absolutely wonderful at Christmas. My favorite holiday thing was the Holiday Wishes fireworks show during the Very Merry Christmas Party. It was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. That alone was probably worth the admission price for the Christmas Party. We also enjoyed the snow falling on Main Street. It’s so different from home when it tends to be blowing at you sideways and very cold!
