Hey everyone!
Hope you enjoy our tour around Disney’s Contemporary resort. It’s one of my favorite resorts on Disney property, great location, great restaurants…and again one of my favorite, the California Grill, and did I mention, what could be wrong with a resort that has a monorail running right through it!
Thanks for watching our show, see you next week!

I’m not sure that I can pick just one resort as my favorite. We usually stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge, because our DVC is there and I really enjoy the Kilimanjaro Club. But as far as most magical, I was completely enchanted with the Grand Floridian this spring and can’t think of a better place to stay. I’m hoping to be able to try out Beach CLub next summer, so that just may be added to my list as well!

My first trip to WDW in 1979, we stayed at the Contemporary Resort and I remember the Electrical Water Pageant very well, loved the resort ever since. We’ve stayed there our last two trips. My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at the California Grill during the fireworks show, what a memory, and the food was fantastic! The ambiance in the Contemporary Resort is the best in WDW, sitting in the Contempo-Cafe and listening and seeing the monorail come through, I wish I was sitting there now! I love so many of the WDW resorts it’s hard to narrow it down to one favorite, but the Contemporary, with it’s great character meal, great food, pool, marina, walk to MK, monorail, five legged goat, it’s hard to beat! Thanks so much Rick, you made me smile seeing this week’s video, and for that, I’m so thankful!

I loved your tour of the Contemporary. We were suppose to be heading to that resort for the first time in August but due to some financial constraints had to switch to a different resort but it was nice seeing it and we will still be heading over there as we have an ADR at Chef Mickey during our stay. I too agree with you that I have different favorites at different times. I think my all time favorite resort is Coronado Springs because it is a moderate resort which puts it more frequently into my price range but it has a very deluxe resort feel. My favorite deluxe has been Beach Club and I got to stay there for my 40th bday. We stayed at the Polynesian for my daughters 13th bday and that was nice too. My favorite value is All Star Movies in the Mighty Ducks bldg because you can pick which bus to ride home as it’s right next tothe bus stop for Music. We are heading down for a long weekend in Oct to partake in the F&WF so we are staying at Boardwalk for it’s close proximity to the International Gateway and to experience a new resort since we have already stayed at Beach Club. Although I will get to see my beloved Beach Club in August as we have an ADR at Cape May Cafe Clam Bake. Eating at resort restaurants is the best way to see and experience a resort that you haven’t had the pleasure of staying in yet.
Thanks again for the great video and I look forward to next weeks video.

Hey Rick.
I hope you had a good week. I liked your video. We are accualy staying at the Contemporary Resort. We are ging in 15 days. There is nothing wrong with a monorail running through a hotel. My favorite resort is the Wilderness Lodge. I like the pool and the themeing is really great. Have a good week, Rick.

Hi Rick,
Hey what happened to my photo?
Thank you for the trip to the CONT. We stayed there when the kids were younger and they loved the monorail, the game room, and being walking distance to Space Mt!
My favorite resort is the GF!I have stayed at the WL, AKL, the YC, AND BC but
I still love the GF the best. If I had to select a second choice it would be the YC or BC because we liked the walking over to Epcot and Disney Studios.

Never stayed there, but we almost always visit the Contemporary on each trip to eat at the California Grill or have drinks at the Outer Rim Lounge.
Great atmosphere!
As a DVC member, I tend to stay at the villa resorts nowadays. But have stayed at most of the moderate and value resorts on past vacations.
My overall favorite resort is Boardwalk. It’s location between 2 parks is amazing, really makes you feel like you’re at the center of WDW.
The huge number of nearby eating and drinking spots, and fun atmosphere make it the best in my book.
While it’s location isn’t as convenient, as a stand alone resort, the Animal Kingdom Lodge is also incredible.
My wife and I spent 6 nights there a couple of years ago before going on a cruise. We didn’t visit any of the parks, and aside from one trip to Downtown Disney, never left the resort. The restaurants, pools, lounges, shops and animals kept us very happy and occupied.
Therefore, AKL is my runner up for favorite.
Great show! Thanks Rick.

Thanks for the terrific episode of the Contemporary, Rick! It’s the only place I stay. I’ll be using Kingdom Magic to book my December vacation very soon!!

Great video Rick! Love Disney’s Contemporary resort! We stay there often. Love that it’s just a short walk from Magic Kingdom. It also has some of the best Resort shopping on property. As far as favorite resorts, I’d have to say that it’s a toss-up between The Contemporary and Disney’s Polynesian Resort. I prefer Concierge at The Polynesian but shopping is better at The Contemporary. Love The convieniance of the Monorail going right through the building at The Contemporary, but also Love the Polynesian theming at The Poly. Love the short walk to the MK from the CR but Love the short walk to the TTC from The Polynesian…so we switch from one to the other..one trip it’s The Poly, the next it’s the Contemporary Resort. We are so furtunate to be able to stay at both these great resorts. Next trip is in September and we are staying at Disney’s Polynesian resort..can’t wait!! Scºoº tt

My absolute favorite resort is the Contemporary/BLT (both). We have stayed in the CR in garden wing, Lakeview, and a Kingdomview room…none had a bad view, but of course the Kingdomview was the best. We have also stayed at BLT (as we are DVC and this is now our home resort) in a Kingdomview room.
I probably would also love the GF in the main building, or the Poly in the closest bldg to ceremonail house if we ever stay there. (Close to the actio is our preferred room location. We also want to try the Yacht Club and Beach Club at some point.
Going back a few years our fave mid-level resort HAS to be the Coronado Springs.

Thanks so much for posting this video! Back in the day…the Contemporary was always my family’s hotel of choice – loved it & still do! How can you beat the thrill of the monorail going right through the hotel – still gives me goosebumps!!

I never stayed at the Contemporary, but my family did have a great breakfast with Mickey and the gang at Chef Mickey’s. I really appreciate to peek inside the rooms in this week’s video.
My favorite resort, though, is the one we go back to again and again, the Caribbean Beach Resort. There is just something about the bright colors and the steel drum music wafting through the air there…I just love it. It doesn’t hurt to have all the cool Pirate themeing either, but we loved it even before the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
Now if Disney created a “haunted” Resort, it might sway me to stay there.

Thanks for the video. Since my family has only stayed at 2 resorts so far we can’t tell you which is our favorite, but as soon as we have stayed in them all we will let you know. 😉

Great video Rick. My favorite Disney Resort–All of them. Actually I have only stayed at one Disney Resort–Port Orleans Riverside. I really enjoyed it. Each Disney Resort is uniquely decorated to a theme. I would like to stay at all of them. The next one on my list is The Animal Kingdom Lodge.
See you next week,
Bob

We enjoyed the Pop Century. For us it was mainly cost and that the transportation only made one stop. It was fun just going to the Pop Century always something going on in the lobby. Thanks for a great show.

Great video Rick! We have only stayed at the Poly and the Contempory and loved them both. The location can’t be beat. I would love to try the Boardwalk or maybe even Coronado Springs. I would also like to stay at the Wilderness Lodge or maybe Beach Club – well basically I would like to try them all! Are you Hiring? I think if I had to pick a favorite it might be the Poly, just because of the Dole Whip and the Tonga Toast!

Thanks for the tour of the Contemporary. We have eight grandchildren and when each one turns 5 or 6 depending on their maturity we take them to WDW for a week. We have stayed at the Caribbean Resort and Pop Century and the Wilderness Lodge but our favorite is Port Orleans. The slide is such fun for the kids and we love that the rooms have always been quiet and the staff has been really helpful and fun. Love that southern atmosphere and we usually take the bus or boat transportation. We have one more grandchild to go. We would not stay at the Pop Century again. It was much too noisy especially at night at the pool with hundreds of kids still up and busy. Thanks again

Perfect tour of the Contemporary, thanks Rick! We, too, are ready to head there right now! Alas, we must wait until December, and then we’re off to Port Orleans for the first time. Glad to hear good comments about it here, thanks everyone! I sure hope it becomes our favorite!
We agree: Wilderness Lodge is our favorite at Christmas; but the Grand Floridian is a very close second. Who can argue with a life-size gingerbread house! Polynesian has some good memories there, but our growing family is looking forward to the new Art of Animation resort with the family suites. (Haven’t tried the All Star Music suites yet, but we did enjoy the fun themed pools there and the oversized icons in all of the All Star resorts…)

Thanks for the tour Rick! I don’t know what my fav Deluxe is, We’ve stayed at Poly, AKL & WL. And have things I love about each. In Aug going to try BC. I think SAB in Aug will be great!
I love the tropical lush feel of the Poly, the large comfortable rooms, and watching Wishes on the beach is just magical. Also has the best transportation IMO with the monorail to MK, and walk to TTC for Epcot monorail. Love Kona Cafe & ‘Ohana.
WL is just stunning walking into the lobby. Beautiful resort, love the boat to MK. There’s just something about WL that draws me in.
AKL- another beautiful resort. Love Boma, yum. Zebra Domes 🙂 Great pool area, and large seating area at Mara. Love sitting on my balcony watching the animals. And the activities- night vision scopes, evening cultural exchange, culinary tour. But I miss being away from the water and walking trails at AKL.
We are looking forward to our first stay at BC soon! Doing a split stay, 7 nights at POR (our fav moderate) and 5 nights BC.
CR hasn’t been on my radar. To me it just looks stark, but I guess it’s supposed to have that minimalist modern feel. I may try it one day. After I’ve exhausted the places I really want to try. We have an ADR at The Wave in Aug. We ate there before and liked it, just after it opened I think.
Cali Grill wasn’t my fav. I liked Narcoossee’s better!
I have to say, I was impressed with the suite you had at BLT – lol.
