Last trip in April, we were on Safari and one of the giraffes came right up to our truck. We had to wait until it moved a safe distance away from us which took quite a while. Then, instead of returning to the Savannah, it followed our truck! Got some great pictures (nothing like the ones on the Trek though) and a wonderful memory. The Safari is one of my favorites, and if not for my fear of rope bridges, would love to do the Trek. Thanks for sharing your adventure!

Hey Wendy, Thanks for watching the show and leaving your comments on your Safari experience! The giraffe encounter sounds awesome! You would love Wild Africa Trek, and the foot bridges look scary, but believe me, Disney makes she that they and you are very safe!

Hey Rick.
The Wild Africa Trek looked awsome. I would do it of it wasn’t so exspensive and my small fear of rope bridges. I don’t have a favorite safari memory. Have a good week.

Hey Nicklas, thanks for watching! I’m a little afraid of heights too, the rope bridges were my favorite part of this whole thing….like you couldn’t tell, right? Disney makes sure that the bridges are safe for the guests, it really is an “Indiana Jones Experience”!

Hi Rick,
I had seen this adventure at another site so I almost didn’t bother to check yours out but boy was I glad I did. The video was so good and
I really enjoyed this fun adventure. I would love to go on this one someday.
We have had our truck stopped by a giraffe as well and had to wait but we
did get some great close up photos. When we stayed at the AKL I was surprised to see giraffe’s munching on trees right out our wimdow!
I will be watching on Dec 1!

Hey Cathy, sounds like you guys had a closer experience with the Giraffe’s than we did, and glad you did check out our video 😉
I love the Animal Kingdom Lodge! The savanna views offer really unique views from your balcony, hard to believe you can experience that from a hotel room!

Great video Rick! Some great animal shots…especially the lions. We don’t get to see the lions very often when we do the safari. Greatest safari memory was same as my wife Wendy’s (See above)The giraffe stuck his nose right into our truck and almost into my wife’s face. Got some awesome pictures on that trip.
Can’t wait to go back next spring and do it again!

Hey Scott,
Thanks to you and Wendy for sharing your experiences! The lions were awesome! I have never seen them that active or that close up! We ever got great views of the Cheetahs, which I haven’t seen them that close either.

Hey Rick,
That was a great video! Wow! I would love to go on the the Safari Trek. Every time I go to Disney World I go to the Animail Kingdom and I have to ride the Kilimanjaro Safari. That is my favorite safari memory.
See you next week.

Hey Bob,
Thanks for watching as always and leaving your comments, really appreciate it! I’ve loved Animal Kingdom from the day it opened, and Kilimanjaro Safaris is always a highlight for me as well. Wild Africa Trek was a great way to see an experience it more up close and from a slightly different angle. I’d highly recommend it!

We went on the Safari our first trip to Disney. It made such an impression on my son all he would talk about was all the animals and the story line how we helped capture the poachers. We got lots of great pictures and the guide was really tickled by my sons enthusiasm for the whole trip. I will never forget that first time.
This was a great adventure that I think I would love to experience.
Thanks for Sharing

Hey Penny in Texas 😉
Thanks for sharing your experience! There’s nothing like seeing Disney from the eyes of child, I still love going with my kids, even though they’re teens now, and we’ve always loved bringing their friends, some of who it would be their first time and seeing their reaction. And like a lot of us, Disney always brings out the kid in me! This experience was so unique, and I so enjoyed feeling like a big kid walking across those bridges!
Thanks again for watching!

Hi Rick! Catching up. Loved your slide show of the Trek. Would love to do it someday, but haven’t yet due to cost.
We love AK, and usually do the Safari twice each time we’re in AK! My best experience was last Aug, when our truck had to stop for a Rhino who took his time crossing the path, and walking around the truck. Really up close & personal 🙂
Seems to be everyones best experience when an animal stops the truck.
Next visit coming up soon, in Jan. yay!
